Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Adobe Illustrator
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor and design program developed and marketed by Adobe Inc. Originally designed for the Apple Macintosh, development of Adobe Illustrator began in 1985.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will practice different tools and techniques and gradually show your success!
You should see the File under RECENT to the right
We named it
"FirstName_LastName_DOD"
Double click to OPEN!
The shortcut to ZOOM IN is
After you have completed the coloring!
Click on the Layers tab in the Properites Panel (If it is not there go to VIEW on top...LAYERS)
Click the + at the bottom
Double click this layer
Name it "TEXT LAYER"
Click OK
Click the TYPE Tool from the tools panel
Click in the space above the skull
Type in All CAPS:

Select the text
In the Properties Panel...
Change the font size and font!
(Use something appropriate for the theme!)
Example: Becker Gothics (Adobe Font), 30 pt (But I will increase the size next!)
Click on the pull down arrow next to the Font under Character in the Properties Panel
Then click FIND MORE
Find a NEW Adobe Font to use! (Click the Cloud to activate)
With the Selection Tool selected
Select the text with the selection tool (you should see a text bounding box)
Choose OBJECT...ENVELOPE DISTORT...
Choose Make with Warp
Select ARC
To see how it looks, make sure Preview is selected.
Click OK
Pull on the handles to adjust the text or click the EDIT CONTENTS button in the Properties Panel to increase the fonts size
Click the EDIT CONTENTS button in the Properties Panel and select the TEXT tool in the Tools Pallet
Select the text (Highlight it)
Then change the color using the Fill button
Use a color that compliments your art
Press Ctrl + 0 to Fit in Page
On the Properties Panel
Click LAYERS tab
LOCK the OBJECTS & TEXT layers by clicking the space between the eye and the name of the layers.
UNLOCK the BACKGROUND layer
Click on the white background on the artboard
Back to the Properties Panel tab...
Apply a color (choose a color you have NOT used!)
On the Layers Tab
Click LAYERS tab
UNLOCK the OBJECTS & TEXT layers by clicking the space between the eye and the name of the layers.
The lock will be gone!
Select all (Ctrl + A)
In the PROPERITES PANEL
Click on the STROKE and select NONE (the white box with a red line...or put 0 in the box)
Click LAYERS tab
LOCK the OBJECTS & BACKGROUND layers by clicking the space between the eye and the name of the layers.
Select the TEXT layer
Do not close Illustrator until your work is verified!!!
